Who Are We?

The mission of the Des Moines Figure Skating Club (DMFSC) is to provide programs to encourage community-wide participation and achievement in the sport of figure skating.  DMFSC helps over 500 skaters annually thorugh our Learn to Skate program to discover the joy of skating - reacreational skating, competitive skating, and beginning skating for ice hockey.  DMFSC is dedicated to providing a fun and safe experience and great activities for the entire family in promoting health and physical fitness.  In addition to Learn to Skate, DMFSC offers private lessons, competitions, on-ice/off-ice workshops and a spring and winter ice show.

DMFSC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement, practice, and instruction of the sport of figure skating in the Central Iowa community.  The club is a proud member of U.S. Figure Skating since 1955.  Over the past 57 years, DMFSC has helped members of all ages and abilities in the Central Iowa community to devlop their skills as competitive and recreational skaters.  Competitive members of our organziation have trained locally and participated in local, state, regional and national competitions.

DMFSC is comprised of dedicated parent/guardians and volunteers, determined skaters, and experienced coaches - all of whom support a family-oriented environment and a strong fellowship within the club, as well as the surrounding community.
